Tubes and picture here


First Step

Open a new image of 500 x 500 pixels
and choose the transparant background,
open the picture you want to work with
and the picture of the base.

Go to the picture and choose the selection tool,
and put it on circle.



Click on the picture you have chosen to work with
and make a circle in the part you want to have in the globe.
See the example below:



A tip:

Because it is a circle you have to try to find the centre of the picture
and from there on hold onto your mousebutton and move up slowly
until you have everything you want to have in your globe.

Click now on 'Edit' and afterwards on 'copy', click now on the new
layer, click on edit again and afterwards on paste and paste as
new selection.
Now you see the circle of the picture with a moving dotted line
around it, which is needed for the second step.

Second Step

Click now on the layers and click on new rasterlayer and click on Ok.
Now we are going to add effects to make the glass ball.

Click on effects and click on 3D effects and click on cutout,
adjust the screen like this: horizontal and vertical on 5,
opacity on 75% and blur on 30%, shadow color black.
Click on OK again and do this again, but then you put
vertical and horizontal on -5.

Click on layers and go to selections and click on select none.
Now you see the dotted line around the globe disappear.
Add another new rasterlayer.

Third step

Click now on your paintbrush and put the color on white,
put the paintbrush on round, size 70 and hardness 30,
go with your paintbrush to the globe and put a dot up left.

Click on effects and on blur and then on gaussian blur
and put the radius on 2,75 and click on Ok.

Add another rasterlayer.

Fourth step

The globe is almost ready but we must the edge and the base below it
copy the rand tube and paste as new layer on your image
Click on the movertool and
set it on the right place. Copy now the base tube and paste as a new layer,
set this also on the right place.

Activate in your layerpalet the layer with the edge.
Click now with the magicwand in the circle
there appeared a dot line, selection/selection modify/contract/
with 3 pixels, it must look like this example:



Closes now the top layer in your layerpalet and merge the
remaining layers visible.
The globe is almost ready but its not a moving globe
we must making 3 identical images.
Click on edit and then on copy and hold the shift pressed
2 x on the letter D.
Now you have 3 the same images in your screen.

Step 5:


Use now the picture tube and place the
snow, move the size on 100.
If your you want fine snow you must take a lower number, want you
large snow take it higher.
I self find how more fine the snow how more beautiful the effect.
Now click one time in the globe.
You see now that the snow only in the globe comes and not
at the outside.
Click on selections and click on select none, merge all
layers visible and save as a psp file and name it
image1.
Do the same with the other 2 images click only not on
the same place with the snow otherwise it not moves.
Save the 2 images as psp file and name these
Image 2 and 3, remembers where you saved it.

Sixth Step

Now we are going to make it an animated globe, so open
animationshop.

Click upperleft on the animation-wizard icon
then there will appear a screen.
Choose the following option int he first screen and click on next.

Put the second screen on transparant, see example:



On the third screen you click on the upper and lower part
on the first option, see example:



On the fourth screen you choose the first option and put the
speed on 30.
See example:



On the fifth screen we are going to add the pictures,
click on add image and go to the file where you have saved
your pictures.
Hold on to the Ctrl button and click on the 3 pictures, release
the Ctrl button and click on open, see example:



click on next and afterwards on finish.
To see your animation you can click on view and then animation.
Now you can see your animation move.
If you're happy with the result you can sace it, click on file,
afterwards on save as... give your globe a name and save it as a
gif-file (CompuServe Graphics Interchange).

Click on next everytime and your globe is ready!
